How do French nationals reach consular services in Bali?
Checked October 2026 · 3 sources
France has a consular agency in Denpasar, reachable on +62 811 3960 1401, run by an honorary consul. It helps in emergencies and points you to the right service, but most formalities are handled by the consular section of the French Embassy in Jakarta (Jl. M.H. Thamrin 20, +62 21 2355 8000). The embassy's 24-hour emergency line is +62 811 1954 3123.
In detail
For routine questions, France Consulaire answers Monday to Friday from 7 am to 2 pm Paris time, online, on +33 1 84 88 57 99 from abroad or on +62 21 3113 2609 locally. This service does not handle visas.
The 24-hour emergency number is only for arrests, accidents, illnesses needing hospital care, assaults and deaths. For a lost passport or a general question, call during office hours instead.
The consulate can issue an emergency travel document, inform your family, visit you if you are detained and give you a list of lawyers and translators. It cannot pay your bills, act as your lawyer, intervene in a court case or get you released.
France also has consular agencies in Surabaya and Makassar. Check the contacts on France Diplomatie before calling, as details can change.
