Can I use Grab and Gojek in Bali?
Checked October 2026 · 3 sources
Yes. Grab and Gojek work across most of south Bali and Ubud, offering car and motorbike rides plus food delivery. Some spots ban pickups by app drivers, including parts of Canggu, Sanur and Padang Bai harbours, and Pandawa Beach. Coverage is patchy in remote areas such as Amed, Pemuteran and the Nusa islands.
In detail
Rides are easy to get in Seminyak, Kuta, Canggu, Jimbaran, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, Denpasar and Ubud. Local taxi groups control pickups in certain areas, so you may need to walk a short way out or take a local taxi or Bluebird. Drop-offs are allowed everywhere.
At the airport, both apps have official pickup points in the arrivals area, but airport fares are higher. Linking a bank card makes payment easier, because drivers often do not carry change. Prices can differ between the two apps, so compare them.
An Indonesian eSIM or local SIM helps, because the apps need data and drivers often message or call you. Always check that the number plate matches the one shown in the app before you get in.
Good to know
- Install both apps before you land.
- Walk a few hundred metres out of no-pickup zones.
- Book a Bluebird taxi in areas where app pickups are blocked.
