Kira Kira is a traditional Pinisi style vessels, boast four cabins and communal dining areas, covered dive decks and large sun area, dressed with Teak Ketch masts and a Marconi sail rig. Powered entirely by the Sun’s rays, we motor at 7 knots and sail with the winds.
The hull, sat atop a double Ironwood keel, the body first shaped over fires, ribs crafted thereafter from Bitti timbers, closed with a thick Jati deck. The cabins cut from Kendoli and Teak boast large beds and are naturally vented.
Combining classical appeal with 21st Century technology, Kira Kira scuba diving charters, feature low lying superstructures with a large deck covering the bow to stern, resulting in a craft that offers not only a subtle form, but also sails safe on our magical journeys across the seas.
This beautiful sail ships, can venture thousands of nautical miles, seeking the best scuba diving in Indonesia, and is highly economic. Kira Kira was built environmentally conscious, run all electrical systems from solar panels in order to reduce emissions and operational noise, we are extremely proud of our ability to offer silent nights, so you can truly capture the sounds of the ever resonating jungle and shore lapping seas. We provide clean freshwater on board, 3,000 liters stored in the ship’s tanks. A charging station for electrical items is operated daily for generous periods making Kira Kira the most environmentally friendly liveaboards in Indonesia.
Crewed by the Bugis, that once ruled the waves during the historic Spice Islands trade, from Bira in South Sulawesi. Known for life at sea, under sail… Blessed with local tradition, Kira Kira was launched in 2014, a long life ahead of her.
Kira Kira features three twin cabins and one roof top double with amazing panoramic views. Cabins can be spruced daily, with towel and sheets changed at your request.
Each cabin has storage lockers for large bags and dive gear, a personal wardrobe for clothes and belongings and shelf space for laptops, cameras and gadgets, books, travel journals and more. Straight out of bed each morning, you can admire the magnificent view across the seas through traditional portholes.
Our Indonesia liveaboard, feature two shared bathroom facilities with modern appliances, home flush toilets and traditional handcrafts. We find most of our guests have their preferred toiletry choices, therefore we supply only anti bacterial hand wash on board.
Cruise Komodo, Raja Ampat or the Spice Islands and Banda Neira in comfort, and enjoy spacious interiors on board Kira Kira which accommodate up to eight passengers. Perfect for families, a close circle of friends, or individual travelers who wish to join scheduled scuba diving charters. Beside comfortable and spacious cabins, you may choose to spend your time in Kira Kira’s newly refurbished lounge and dining area.
