Description
Welcome to Mepantigan Bali’s culturistic, healthy and fun programs. Mepantigan is a form of Balinese martial arts that involves similar physical techniques to those found in self-defense traditions around the world. But Mepantigan extends the form by also drawing upon Balinese drama, contemporary dance, and gamelan music, fusing fighting with the performing arts to create an entirely new cultural phenomenon. Participants wear uniforms consisting of traditional Balinese clothing, and can compete on the beach, in the mud of rice fields, or in any open space. Practitioners of Mepantigan gain physical fitness, release stress, and learn valuable lessons in camaraderie and sportsmanship. In addition to physical skills, strength, and agility, both emotional and spiritual intelligences are utilized.
This activity last for 3 hours either from 10 to 13 pm or from 16 to 19 pm. During this program we offer an amazing and fun cultural activities. Guest will be welcomed with “Katos Barong Topeng Kelaras” dance and special Balinese welcome drink and snacks. After enjoying welcome drink and snacks, guest will be given a Tridatu sarong which is Mepantigan traditional clothing by Mepantigan instructor as well as showing the guest how to properly put on the clothing. Once everyone is ready, program will start with lots of different Balinese fun games as a warm up before jump in the mud and get muddy!. All those activities are performed are safe and fun and promoting harmony, with professional guidance from our Mepantigan Bali instructors.
Program Activities
Wrestling and fun games. The activities will begin in the mud of the rice fields. There will be wrestling, fun games and connecting between humans, animals and nature. As a part of this the guests can try to connect with the friendly duck named Bob, by having complete focus on developing harmony with the duck while placing it on the head and thus creating the complete Balinese Mud Experience.
Healing Mud Massage, Special Mud Sauna and Mud Coffee or tea. After having fun in the mud, the guest will be treat with healing Mud Massage, Special Mud Sauna and Mud Coffee or tea. We also called this activity as eco - healing mud retreat as we offer healthy, happy and harmony activity. This Balinese style natural sauna is one of the most unique experiences we offer to our guests. It is complete with Massage while enjoying a fresh cup of mud coffee or tea in the mud. Balinese Style Sauna and Warm Herbal Water rinse off the mud mixed with many herbal plants such as turmeric, Pandanus leaf and Ginger. This is very soothing and Relaxing after a lot of exercise with Mepantigan Bali. After the Mud sauna, guest will all go to the natural clean river rinsing off the mud; what we also called Melukat. Everyone will get a towel and a bar of soap handed out by our instructors at Mepantigan Bali.
Special Balinese Nasi Lumpur (Mud Rice) for lunch or dinner. Lunch or Dinner is consisting of a Nasi Lumpur buffet at the horse cart. It is a buffet with only natural ingredients, and all are locally grown from Bali. It is possible for guests with both a vegetarian diet and a non vegetarian diet to enjoy our wonderful Nasi Lumpur buffet. The buffet only serves chicken for meat and the chicken will be prepared separately from the rest of the dishes in the buffet. In order for all of our guests to be able to freely pick whichever they desire from the buffet and feel comfortable eating it. All the food is free from MSG and palm oil. We only use natural coconut oil for our cooking and we cook in a traditional way using firewood instead of a stove. We use banana leaves as plates, bamboo drinking cups and wooden spoons and forks. We are trying to create a complete plastic-free environment at Mepantigan Bali and only use natural materials for our buffet. It is a part of our goal to revive and inspire the original Balinese lifestyle for both our guests and our local community in order to live a natural and sustainable lifestyle.
